1000 Islands Acrylic Workshop

IAPS Pastel Convention 2017

The 12th Biennial International Pastel Convention will be underway June 7 - 11, 2017 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  I will attend to demonstrate pastel painting techniques at the Schmincke booth on Thursday, June 8 from 11am to 1pm.  I am also pleased to announce the launching of my new book, "Make your Mark in Pastels" at a book signing hosted by Santa Fe Artisans Supply from 3pm to  4pm.  You may also order the book from my website starting June 10th at karinrichter.com/pastel_book.htm

Akokiniskway Gallery in Rosebud

If you are in the area, check out the Akokiniskway Gallery in Rosebud where Karin and 3 other artists present "Beautiful Erosion" - The Canadian Badlands". Rosebud is a charming village about 1 hour's drive east of Calgary and home of the Rosebud Dinner Theatre. The exhibition continues til August 28.

"How to Draw More Income from your Art"

Karin is leading a discussion on "How to Draw More Income from your Art" on Friday, April 29 from 6:30-8:30pm at the Leighton Art Centre. This free event is sponsored by Visual Arts Alberta (Carfac), a non-profit cultural organization representing the visual arts sector in the Province of Alberta. Come out and join the conversation! Workshop in Gibson

I will be conducting a 5-day workshop in beautiful Gibsons on the Sunshine Coast, B.C. August 1-5, 2016. This workshop is for painters in watermedia, either watercolour, acrylic, gouache and meant for the serious artist wanting to advance to the next level. Workshop is held at the Gibsons School for the Arts and a full description including materials list, list of accommodations etc. can be found at www.gibsonsartschool.net.


ICAN Conference

Pastel Artists Canada is holding their national pastel conference ICAN in Aurora, ON in late May 2016. I will be one of the instructors doing a 1/2 day workshop and a 2-hour demonstration. Please peruse their website at www.pastelartists.ca for all the details and how you may be part of this exciting opportunity to learn from a wide selection of recognized pastel artists!
